VII. Admission criteria or requirements to the programme

The Department of Chemical Engineering adheres to the admission policy being implemented by the University of the Philippines. Those who wish to take BS Chemical Engineering have two (2) options on how they can be admitted to the program. They can enter either as a freshman or as a transfer student. If entering as a freshman, the high school student needs to take the UPCAT (University of the Philippines College Admission Test) which is held annually. Important information regarding UPCAT (i.e. requirements, schedules) can be found in its website (https://upcat.up.edu.ph/index.html). If entering as a transfer student from other units within the UP community, the student must comply with all the grade and documentation requirements prior to evaluation and possible acceptance to the degree program. Due to limited facilities, transfer students who wish to take up BS Chemical Engineering but are coming from other universities are currently not allowed (UPLB Academic Catalogue).
